WHAT’S ON

We are a diverse, multicultural church, we combine evangelical faith with informal worship centred on the Eucharist and we are committed to Bible-based discipleship and mission. We meet every Sunday as a Christian community (from10-11.15am) for our service, and throughout the week at our home groups and other groups and events.

Whoever you are and whatever your background, whether you’re a lifelong Christian or have never been in a church before, you can be sure of a warm welcome at St Mary’s!

Every Sunday we gather to worship between10 and 11.15am in St Mary’s and we celebrate God together, sing a mix of old hymns and new songs, pray and hear God’s word read and preached from the Bible, our Explorer’s group for children meets (see more below), and we celebrate Holy Communion where we remember the death and resurrection of Jesus using the physical signs of bread and wine to share, and believing He is with us. After the service we always have coffee and tea and a space to meet people. There is parking outside the church available, and we’d love to have you join us no matter if you’ve been a lifelong churchgoer, you’ve never been before or you’re somewhere in between!

At St Mary’s all ages are valued as part of our community from the littlest to the eldest. We have an activity group called Explorers for children as part of our Sunday morning worship where volunteers share age-appropriate activities which are fun for the children and they rejoin us later on in the service.

One of the best ways to get to know people better at St Mary’s and to continue to grow in your faith and walk with God is to join one of our midweek small groups. We have three home groups that regularly meet at the moment. The Barton Home Group meets every Thursday morning at 10am in the church (feel free to just try it out!), the Sandhills Home Group meets weekly on a Tuesday evening and the Headington Home Group meets fortnightly on a Tuesday or Wednesday evening. Other activities

Following our return to the church groups will be starting up soon beginning with Coffee and Craft Group on Mondays from the 20th of September.
We hope to continue with Barton Growers - a community gardening group, a community drop-in and various courses which help people think through the issues going on for them.
